OpooSoft XPS To IMAGE is a converter which helps you turn XPS files into images. The program can convert only to 8 formats, namely BMP, EMF, WMF, JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and PCX.
The interface is simple, easy to use, the controls are placed at close reach, which seems to be very convenient at first sight.
For each image format you get special settings that you can configure as you like. You have an ability to change the colors by choosing among 5 alternatives, ranging from high color to black and white, according to the image type in question. The compression is available only for JPEG and TIFF formats. You can change both DPI from 72 to 600, and the page layout which can be standard or customized with personal settings.
In addition, the program provides the Hot Folder function which does a great job when you use the app very often. All you need to do is set the input and output folders, and when you copy an XPS file to the input folder, you will find it into the output one, already converted into the format that you have just set.
The 'Preferences' section allows you to select the action when the conversion is over. For instance, you can choose, among other things, to close the app or shut down the computer. You will also find here the 'Process Priority' feature that I find it very useful when you deal with large files and their processing might crash your computer.
In terms of functionality, the program is good; the conversion is done well and fast even when the files are too large. However, I consider that a preview function and an ability to convert only part of the file would become great features for this program.
